Cartagena de Indias is probably the most touristic city in Colombia. Travelers from around the world plan a trip to this historic city on the Caribbean coast. Its fortresses and walled city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980. The sea breeze running among its ancient and colonial buildings make for a very romantic atmosphere. For a travel photographer is a subject full of opportunities mixing the old with the modern, blending pastel colors with sun-bleached tile streets. Traditional people and crafts abound in the streets. Several cruise companies have Cartagena as one of their traditional stops.
